2009 NSCAA All-Americans

Cook at the 2010 National Soccer Coaches Association Convention and All-America
Luncheon in Philadelphia, PA.  Matt received his Scholar All-American recognition, just
the 2nd player in Mustang history to receive this prestigious honor.  2005 graduate Scott
Margulio was the first to receive Scholar All-American designation.  Kmetz was in
Philadelphia to receive NCAA Division III All-American honors.  He was part of the Calvin
College team that went to the NCAA Division III final losing to eventual champion Messiah
College.  Dan is the first Strongsville High School player to receive Collegiate
All-American status.

Strongsville finishes up at the #5 in the final State Poll dated 10/19/09 and they remain
at #2 in the final GCSSCA Top Ten Poll dated 10/16/09.  ESPN Rise Soccer's updated
Final
Fab 50 poll dated 11/22/09 Week 13 has the Mustangs moving up to #22 in the
Boy's Final Fall Soccer Rankings. The Mustangs are ranked at #7 in the NSCAA coach's
Regional poll #11.  See

Congratulations to the 2009 Mustangs for a great season and the deep run in the state
playoffs. The Mustangs would like to thank their fans and supporters for their positive
contributions during this wonderful run. Thank you!
National Letters of Intent
Two Strongsville Mustang Boys Soccer players have agreed to continue their education and soccer
careers in college.  Senior Captains Mike Matlock(University of Massachusetts) and Matt
Griesinger(Bowling Green State University) signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday,
February 3rd at Strongsville High School.














Matlock, Northeast Ohio Conference Valley Division Player of the Year finished his Strongsville career
leading the Mustangs to a State Semi-final appearance.  He finished 3rd on our All-Time list in
games played with 77, 7th on the top ten list in assists earned with 23 and 10th in goals scored(28)
and points earned(79).  In addition to being named 1st Team All-Greater Cleveland and 1st Team
All-Ohio, Matlock received NSCAA All-Region honors.  He is one of only 15 players in Mustang history
to be a 4-year letter winner

Griesinger, was named to the NOC Valley Division All-Conference team and 2nd Team All-Greater
Cleveland.  Also a 4-year letter winner he played in 79 games over his career, 1st on the All-Time List
in games played.  His captaincy and leadership in the back was instrumental in the Mustangs trip to
the OHSAA State Final Four in 2009.  Griesinger was also recognized as an NSCAA Scholar
All-American, just the 2nd player in Strongsville history to be so honored(Scott Marguglio was
honored in 2004).
